Hi, I’m Sadie—also known as The Curly Queen! I’m a proud Liberian woman, mum to two amazing boys, and someone who never needs an excuse to throw a dinner party. You’ll often find my husband Joe cheering me on behind the scenes—he’s a big part of the yie.b.you journey too.
With over 20 years of experience in the hair industry, I’ve dedicated my life to the craft of hairdressing. I’m best known for specialising in curly and Afro-textured hair, but I’m also trained and skilled in working with all hair types—providing expert styling and care for men, women, and children alike.
My professional journey took shape during my 10 incredible years with TONI&GUY, where I worked my way up to Style Director. It was there that I gained not only world-class training and experience, but also a deep passion for education and for blending hair, culture, and fashion into one art form.
In July 2020, I took a leap of faith and opened yie.b.you—right in the midst of a global pandemic. It was risky, but my dream of creating a salon space that truly celebrates textured hair couldn’t wait. Since then, I’ve built a beautiful community here in York, offering a welcoming, one-to-one salon experience where every client feels seen and celebrated.
Today, I continue to grow this vision—offering not just expert styling, but also educational tutorials for professionals and parents who want to better understand and care for curly hair.

I run the only multi-textural salon in the historic city of York, North Yorkshire. That means I specialise in all hair textures—from curly, coily, and Afro to wavy and straight—because every texture deserves expert care and attention.
The name yie.b.you means first be you, and that’s exactly what my salon is all about. You are you, and I am me—and together we embrace individuality. I welcome everyone, regardless of ethnicity, age, or gender, and my mission is to help you feel confident, seen, and empowered in your hair—just as you are.
So come on in, take a deep breath, and relax. I’ll do my very best to make your hair goals a reality.

Curly Hair Stylist
Do you love curls, coils, and everything in between?
We’re looking for a stylist who specializes in natural and curly hair textures to provide expert services in cutting, shaping, and styling.
Requirements:
- Skilled with 3A–4C textures
- Confident in dry cutting, shaping, and defining curls
- Product knowledge and care routines for curly/natural hair
- Strong client care and communication skills
- Experience preferred but not essential with protective styles

Hairdressing Apprentice
